Extremely versatile, UniRap enables to weave the widest range of high tenacity yarns, from carbon tape and fibers to fiberglass, aramid fibers, steel and lead-coated yarns, and many others.

Ranging from refined lamé to high tenacity monofilament yarns, passing through bouclé yarns up to carbon, polyester and polypropylene tape, UniRap provides the possibility to weave sophisticated technical fabrics and innovative fashion styles. The absence of the weft exchange, thanks to the positive weft transfer featuring an open patented rapier system, allows the weaver to process the widest range of weft yarns with maximum textile efficiency. Based on reliable and user-friendly electronic and mechanical platforms, and providing excellent ease-of-use, UniRap clearly provides valuable benefits in terms of versatility, performances, and reliability. The insertion cycle is electronically driven, including the weft clamping settings, and the flexible electronic architecture offers real-time management of the on-board automated devices.

Designed as an open platform, UniRap comes to the market in a double version specifically developed for technical textiles weaving:

  • The UniRap | P Weft Insertion System enables the effective insertion of carbon tapes and tape shaped yarns with no torsion up to 30mm
  • The UniRap | G Weft Insertion System is ideal to weave the widest range of technical yarns

What makes the two versions even more interesting is the possibility to switch the two weft transfers easily and quickly, thus providing weavers with two weft insertion technologies in one.

The UniRap P Weft Insertion System

The UniRap | P Rapier enables the effective insertion of carbon tapes and tape shaped yarns with no torsion:

  • up to 25 mm as standard
  • up to 30 mm on special request

Positive Weft Transfer

The monorapier positive weft transfer enables the possibility to weave the widest range of flat yarns, such as carbon tape, polypropylene tape, thermoplastic composite with glass fiber, and many others.

Exclusive P-Cut Weft Cutter

The unique P-Cut Weft Cutter features an exclusive design and a rotary blade. The P-Cut allows a perfect cutting and, due to its closeness to the weft cutting point, it ensures reduced waste selvedge formation.

The Itema Shed Geometry

With a Deroulé System with double accumulation buffer and Zero Twist version for maximum textile performance, it ensures:

  • excellent fabric quality due to reduced stress on weft yarns

Back-Rest Roller with High Compensation Bar

The high compensation bar configured on the back-rest roller ensures maximum stability and textile efficiency.

Wide Weaving Variations Range

UniRap features an exclusive tape drive system providing a wide weaving variations range: width reduction from 500mm and up to 1150mm.

Direct Drive Technology

The motor is based on an electronic drive technology which provides easy machine speed adjustment through the machine console, thus ensuring reduced maintenance and consumption, and maximum user-friendliness thanks to enhanced textile settings possibilities.

Armotion Independent Motor for the Shedding Machine

Thanks to Armotion, the second motor for the dobby, the set-up of the shed closing timing is electronically adjustable directly from the machine console and machine’s vibrations are significantly reduced, providing time saving and enhanced textile efficiency.

Powerful Electronic Platform

Reliable and flexible, the electronic platform is based on an open architecture, thus allowing to manage in real-time all the machines parameters and the electronic devices equipped on the machine.

Interactive Machine Control

The full colour touch-screen console represents the user interface, ensuring remote machine control and access to machine data through network connection.

The UniRap | G Weft Insertion System is ideal to weave the widest range of technical yarns, allowing for excellent, top-class fabric quality.

Positive Weft Transfer

The monorapier positive weft transfer enables to weave the widest range of round yarns, made out of carbon fibers, glass fibers, synthetic fibers, metallic yarns, artificial fibers, natural fibers and blends.

Multiple Weft Selector Options

Available in 2, 4, 6 or 8 colors for the effective insertion of the widest range of technical yarns.

Multiple Back-Rest Roller Options

UniRap | G offers multiple warp beam arrangement options:

  • internal warp feeding, with multiple warp beam options
  • external warp feeding by creel with calender

Both versions are enhanced by a motorized let-off and an electronic tension control
